A disposable email address in one click
The address at the top of this page is a working disposable email. It was created the moment you opened the page, it can receive mail right away, and it deletes itself after 5 days. Copy it, paste it into any sign-up form, and watch the confirmation arrive in the inbox above.
What is a disposable email address?
A disposable email address is an inbox you use once and throw away. Instead of giving your real address to every website, newsletter wall and free download, you give a temporary one. The website gets a valid address that can receive its verification email. You get what you came for. When the address expires, any spam sent to it disappears with it.
Why people use disposable email
- Less spam. Marketing lists, partner offers and "we miss you" emails go to an inbox that no longer exists.
- Protection from data breaches. If a site you signed up to is hacked, the leaked address leads nowhere.
- Privacy. A disposable address isn't linked to your name, phone number or real inbox.
- Speed. There's nothing to register. The inbox is ready before you finish reading this sentence.
- Testing. Developers and QA testers use disposable inboxes to check sign-up flows, password resets and transactional emails.
Disposable email vs. your real email
| Disposable email | Your real email |
|---|
| Sign-up needed | No | Yes |
| Lasts | 5 days on MailGenerator | Years |
| Password protected | No | Yes |
| Good for | One-time sign-ups, downloads, testing | Banking, work, friends, accounts you keep |
| Spam risk to you | None after it expires | Grows with every sign-up |
When not to use a disposable email
Disposable inboxes are not private, because anyone who knows the exact address could open it. Don't use one for banking, payments, government, health or work accounts, or anything you'll need to recover later with a password reset. For accounts you want to keep but don't fully trust, an email alias is the better tool. Our guide Temp Mail vs. Email Alias explains the difference.
