Free Temporary Email, Ready in One Click
MailGenerator gives you a disposable email address the moment you open the page. Use it to sign up for a website, download a file, get a verification code or test a form, without handing over your real email address. When you're done, let it expire or delete it yourself. No registration, no password and no personal information.
How It Works
- Copy your address. A random address is already waiting at the top of this page. Click it to copy.
- Paste it where you need an email. Use it on any sign-up form, newsletter wall or download page.
- Read your messages here. New emails appear in the inbox above within seconds. Open them to see verification codes, links and attachments.
- Change or delete it. Click "Change" for a new address, or "Delete" to remove it right away. Otherwise it's removed automatically after 5 days.
When to Use a Temporary Email
- Signing up for a one-time download, webinar or free tool
- Reading an article behind an "enter your email" wall
- Joining Wi-Fi at an airport, café or hotel
- Testing your own website's sign-up and email flows
- Entering a contest or getting a coupon without joining a mailing list
When NOT to Use One
A temporary inbox has no password, so it isn't private, and it disappears. Never use it for banking, payments, work, government services, health portals, or any account you might need to recover later. For accounts you want to keep but don't want spammed, use an email alias instead. Our guide Temp Mail vs. Email Alias explains the difference.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is MailGenerator really free?
Yes. MailGenerator is free to use and supported by advertising. There's no paid plan and no sign-up.
How long does my temporary email last?
Your address and its messages are kept for 5 days. You can delete them sooner with the "Delete" button. If you need the address again later, copy it somewhere safe and use "Change" to open it again before it expires.
Can I send emails from a temporary address?
No. MailGenerator is receive-only. This prevents the service from being used to send spam.
Can I receive attachments?
Yes. Common file types such as PDFs, images, documents and ZIP files can be downloaded from the message view. Only open attachments from senders you trust.
Is a temporary email private?
Not completely. Temporary inboxes aren't password-protected, so anyone who knows the exact address could see its messages. That's why you should only use it for low-stakes sign-ups. Read Is Temporary Email Safe? for details.
Why did a website reject my temporary email?
Some websites keep lists of disposable email domains and block them to stop fake sign-ups. If that happens, use an email alias for that site instead. We explain how blocking works in Why Do Websites Block Temporary Email Addresses?
Is using a temporary email legal?
Yes, using a disposable address to protect your privacy is legal in most countries. Using one to commit fraud, such as repeatedly abusing free trials or creating fake accounts, isn't, and it breaks our Terms of Service.
